Explore the science within our environment with a visit to one of the exciting interactive science centres that are dotted around Britain.
Science centres are fun and educational places to visit. They are full of hands-on experiments and will get your youngsters thinking. Most importantly, for those hard-to-please pre-teens, they're cool.
In Belfast there's the W5 centre - a multi-million pound extravaganza of all things interactive. Newcastle has the Life Discovery Centre. There's the National Space Science Centre in Leicester and At-Bristol in, you guessed it, Bristol. All are colourful, busy and buzzing with things to see and do.
In Halifax you can see the real-life Global Garden exhibition at Eureka! The Museum for Children.
In London the newly opened Darwin Centre at the Natural History Museum has an incredible collection of wildlife specimens. The Science Museum, again in London, is another favourite. Children could spend a week in there and not get bored.
