The trailer for the upcoming Ryan Reynolds movie "Buried," in which he spends the whole thing buried alive in a coffin with only an LCD light to keep him company, looks pretty friggin' claustrophobic.

It got way more so for four volunteers in Texas, however, who decided to take the likely disturbing experience of watching the movie and turn it into a potentially life-scarring evening. As the opening salvo in the 2010 edition of Austin's Fantastic Fest, four, um, lucky moviegoers got the opportunity to be blindfolded, driven out to a remote locale, placed in a coffin, buried alive, and then allowed to remove the blindfold, at which point they got to watch the movie on an LCD screen inside the coffin's lid.

Fantastic Fest's parent organization, the Alamo Drafthouse, is no stranger to the practice of making movie-watching a more immersive experience. Previous entries in the "Rolling Roadshow" series included a screening of "Jaws" in Texas's Lake Travis, where audience members watched from inner tubes, and showing "Escape From Alcatraz" on Alcatraz Island. This new experience seems especially intense, however. We wouldn't sign up to be buried alive to watch a movie, even if it were "The Brave Little Toaster," so seeing a thriller that looks like it's already tailor-made to give us nightmares would probably hit too many phobias at once.

But each of the four who signed up to be an "audience of one" for the screening were selected from a pool of applicants, so it clearly appeals to some people. Are we just complete wimps?]
