I guess there are very few concept cars that actually try and venture off-road and are adventurous enough to take on the dirt tracks and the rugged country side. With the way things are going in regards to concept cars one almost assumes that they will not really need a road as most of them seem to be models that have no wheels and intend to glide in air and inch or two above the ground. But the actual problem remains that for a vehicle to have off-road capabilities it needs to have the right suspension and required toughness.

Shimano is a Concept Car design that is all about confidence and rugged toughness. One look at the car and its prominent suspension system tells you that the car is aimed at the roads that are not conventional. There is nothing cute or too sweet about Shimano as it looks like a fire-breathing dragon that wishes to conquer all that lays in its path- An ideal approach for the vehicle of an adventurer.

The project is based on the high end component group XTR, and articulates Shimano’s personality into the concept vehicle. The vehicle is off-road capable, and is visually communicating its functionality and mechanical structure. That is to say that a single glance at Shimano tells you that both the vehicle and its owner mean business. Now that is indeed a welcome change in the attitude of concept cars and something an adventurer would love to carry himself around in!
