Shrink Wrap
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Notes:-
The shrink process will place the vertices of the prop onto the skin of the model. Follow this by using the inflate and smooth tools. With this tool, a simple cylinder and the Cloth Room I was able to make this dress:-

Over 70 control cages are included with the program. This should cover the bulk of the most popular figures. If you find that your figure is not supported you have these options:-

  1. Adapt one of the existing cages. Simply reposition/scale and export out the OBJ file. Follow the file name convention [figureOBJfilename-CAGE.obj] You could also use the Vertex Magnet tool to good effect.
  2. Use a 3D modeling program to adjust an existing cage.
  3. Make your own custom cages using a 3D modeling application see also the information on using the Vertex Magnet tool.
Cages should be symmetrical and with under 100 vertices. If you just want to puttify the front of the face and find that a full cage is a little slow to work with, click here for a tutorial on how to customize the control cage. Or simply delete any unwanted nodes.
See the Vertex Magnet tool to see how this technology can be applied to the rest of the body.

Please note that this does not give the same functionality or speed of response as found in the Poser Face Room. It does however give a fun way to "puttify" the faces of Poser figures whether supported by the face room or not.
Depending on your computer, the higher polygon models such as V3 and M3 may be slow. Miki with over 55,000 polygons in the head will require a fast computer to be workable.

Mirror Object
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Notes:-
This tool may be used to mirror a prop about a given axis. (The illustration uses a static mannequin).
A button is provided to reload the original prop if required.

Geometry Tools
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Notes:-
If the model has unwelded seams smoothing and inflation will break them apart. Use the Poser Grouping tool weld option prior to using these features to prevent this.
Note that Poser includes a basic subdivide script. These tools considerably expand upon that allowing the triangulation of four sided faces and the retention of groups, materials and UV mapping.

This tool is designed to work on a prop, if you need to work on a figure simply import its OBJ file.

Figure Utilities
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Notes:-
If you need to zero a figure's pose but retain the morphs and scaling select the figure's hip and use the Zero Me Children button. This will then avoid zeroing the figure's BODY with its full body morphs.
The Hide and Show tools are extreemly useful when using the magnet Deform Visible tool.
Use the Lock and Unlock tools when you wish to apply a pose that was made for a full figure but you want to retain the existing pose of the limbs or torso.

Light Utilities
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Notes:-
Pretty much what the button says is what the button does Smile
I've noticed that after using some of these buttons the Poser light widget needs a quick mouse click to update its display. I did try nudging the monitor but that did not work so well.
The script searches for all lights that are named "Light" (Light 1, Light 2 Light 3 etc). If you wish one or more lights to be excluded simply rename the light.

Magnets
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Notes:-
Deform Visible
If you have ever found it time consuming to try and create a morph with a magnet that spans more than one body part then you will find this tool a great time saver. At a single click it will set the magnet to influence all the visible body parts.
Use the tools in the Figure menu to quickly set the visibility of various body parts.Once set it can not be undone. If you should need to make that adjustment select the required body part and in the Parameter settings set the relevant magnet dial to zero.

More Magnets

Notes:-
The menu above gives options for figures and props. In some instances the same named button will work on both.
If you need to update the mirror magnets in the scene, first click of the Delete Mirror Magnets button, followed by the Mirror All Magnets button.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Vertex MagnetsNotes:-Easily move the vertices of small props. Use the Load Vertex Mags tool to alter the shape of small props or make your own custom control cages.
Effectivly this how you apply the Face Putty option to the rest of the body.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

  1. Load a small prop (100 vertex limit)
  2. Click the Load Vertex Magnet tool
  3. Ensure that the Poser display option to show all deformers is selected.
  4. You can now select a node and drag it to move a single vertex of the prop.
  5. When you have the desired shape export as an OBJ

If you just wanted to alter a prop import the OBJ file again and save to the prop library. If you wanted to use it as a control cage to puttify part of a figure proceed as follows.

  1. Onto the newly imported prop load up a set of vertex magnets.
  2. Select the figure and hide all the body parts that you do not want influenced.
  3. Click the Deform Visible tool. This will enable the node to now influence the figure.
  4. Moving the nodes will now deform both the control cage and the figure.

Look in the PhilC DesignsObjects section of the Props library for some useful low polygon models that may be used as effective "control cages". You are by no means restricted to using those, they are just there to help
